Kimi Räikkönen will provide his advice to the electric manufacturer Zeekr

Kimi Räikkönen has been appointed as the Chief Performance Officer by the Sino-Swedish brand Zeekr. Primarily active in the Asian market, this 100% electric vehicle manufacturer is seeking to establish a presence in the European market. Therefore, the decision to choose the former Finnish Formula 1 champion as their ambassador is a logical one.

Kimi Räikkönen, known as “Iceman” and former Formula 1 world champion in 2007 with Ferrari, has just accepted the position of Chief Performance Officer at the Sino-Swedish brand Zeekr. After retiring from Formula 1 in 2021, he briefly tried his hand at NASCAR.

So it is at Zeekr that the Finnish makes his return to the automotive world. He has been recruited specifically to take care of the sport aspect of the manufacturer’s new vehicle, the Zeekr 001 FR. A fully electric car, capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.07 seconds. All of this with a total of 1,248 hp. Intended for the Asian market, the vehicle is starting to arrive in certain European markets after its presentation in Beijing last Friday.

Indeed, Räikkönen will have to juggle between Europe and China. He has settled in Italy with his family to closely follow his son Robin’s karting career. Already a winner on the karting scene, he has committed to the Italian team CRG KART, a team that has seen drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Nico Rosberg race for them.
