Lewis Hamilton has been at the center of discussions for several races due to his behavior on track, but the British driver has no intention of changing his driving style. He believes that the Suzuka circuit demands an aggressive driving style to achieve a good lap time, and this suits him perfectly, even though the drivers will discuss his recent behavior during the briefing at Suzuka.

I think Suzuka will favor my qualities: it’s a circuit where you really have to drive aggressively to set a good lap time. It’s a place with no room for compromise. But it’s where you feel the best sensations in a Formula 1 car; when you know you can’t afford the slightest mistake and driving on the limit is the only way to achieve the best time. In this sense, it’s a bit like Monaco, and maybe that’s why I love this circuit so much – it’s truly unique, Lewis Hamilton shared.

The McLaren driver also believes he has a good chance of fighting at the front even if the Red Bull drivers probably have a better car; he thinks he has a shot with his MP4-26.

«I think that we are going to Japan in good shape: we know that the Red Bulls will be very strong – but we also have a very fast car, which we can make work well on different types of circuits. Suzuka is a track that requires a lot of aerodynamic downforce, which should suit us well.»

Hamilton also knows that the weather can play a role at Suzuka – last year’s qualifying session had to be postponed to Sunday morning because torrential rain had fallen. And no matter the weather, the 2008 world champion has only one desire, to be able to battle it out during the race on Sunday.

The weather in Japan during the autumn is always unpredictable – as we’ve seen in previous years, it can be either nice and warm or very cold and wet. But the conditions don’t really matter as long as I can fight in the race.
