Saturday: Toro Rosso drivers fail in Q2
After a tumultuous start to the weekend and strong on-track performances, Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari ultimately did not manage to reach Q3. However, both men hope to take advantage of the race to make their mark.

Sébastien Buemi – 12th and 14th
In the end, I am satisfied with this performance because I completed good laps in Q1 and Q2. We are still lacking pace in qualifying but that does not rule out a good race. I hope we will have our chances, especially since we have saved a set of super-softs! In any case, we need to maintain the focus we have had since the beginning of the weekend, and we can finish the race with a good result. But the night will be long and difficult…
Jaime Alguersuari – 18th and 16th
« This afternoon, I really tried to do my best. Yesterday I was satisfied with my car, but today, that wasn’t the case. I had to struggle with the settings and the main problem was the lack of grip. So I couldn’t do any better. But everything can change tomorrow because Singapore is one of the toughest races on the calendar, both for the drivers and the teams.
Giorgio Ascanelli – Technical Director
« So far, both days have been eventful. Although both our cars reached Q2, we are not as well placed as that. We lost the pace we had in Italy and during the previous races. Sébastien’s crash and Jaime’s technical problem yesterday did not allow us to run as much as we wanted this weekend. Therefore, we couldn’t make the most of any data… We focused more on the race rather than on qualifying, which explains our place on the grid. However, we are happy with Sébastien’s good lap times! In Singapore, confidence is key. We will be in much better shape tomorrow, as we have been preparing for the race since this morning.
