Lotus Renault GP will decide on Kubica and its drivers in October
The Lotus-Renault GP team has set a deadline until the end of October to finalize its 2012 driver lineup.

The issue obviously revolves around the case of Robert Kubica. No one knows yet if he will be able to get back behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car by the start of the 2012 season.
His manager, Daniele Morelli, is of course confident about this:
Robert will put on a helmet next month to prove what he can do, either in a simulator or in a real race car. This message must be heard and taken into account by Eric Boullier.
Eric Boullier, the boss of Lotus-Renault GP, is caught between two fires:
I would be flexible regarding my decision, as I appreciate Robert a lot and would like him to make his return. But I need a clear confirmation by the end of October about my team of drivers. I need to have the best possible duo.
In the meantime, Kubica continues an intensive rehabilitation to regain his best form. Eric Boullier does not expect miracles, even though he believes in the Polish driver’s ability to return to the track:
« I don’t expect him to be as fast as last year. When you don’t run for a year, it’s very difficult to come back. Especially coming out of such an accident. But I need to know if he can do it.»
The answer to this question will come in the weeks to come, but the choice will be difficult for Eric Boullier, especially given Bruno Senna’s strong performances in the last two races.
