Chandhok on track Friday morning for Team Lotus
For Team Lotus, it is Karun Chandhok who will kick off the Friday morning free practice sessions. The test driver is eager to accomplish his task on the Italian Autodrome.
For the Malaysian team, the Indian driver is a key asset: he is now accustomed to taking a seat in one of the team’s two single-seaters and driving in the first practice sessions of the Grand Prix.
Thus, we will see Chandhok at the wheel of a T128 this morning, as in Belgium. Even though he will not participate in the qualifying session or the race, the Indian is delighted to drive on a fabulous track like Monza, which he shared in an interview: « I love coming to Monza! It’s a circuit full of history and character, and you really feel it on the track. It’s the fastest circuit on the calendar, with top speeds approaching 350 km/h. It is therefore very exciting for a driver and provides great sensations ».
As a good test driver, Karun will participate in the session with rigor, as he always does. He will collaborate on the car’s development to help and guide his team. He is also eager to drive on the Italian track: « I can’t wait to discover the circuit with the Lotus. I hope to drive on a dry track tomorrow, even though I often have to deal with changing conditions during test sessions », concluded the driver.
