The 2009 Monza Grand Prix will remain long engraved in the memory of young Adrian Sutil! Assisted by a powerful Mercedes engine and a fast VJM02, he surprised everyone by delivering the best performances of his career to date. An event he recently recalled on the Force India website: “Monza is a circuit that I greatly appreciate. And for good reason, I achieved the two best results of my record there: a front row on the grid alongside Lewis, and a 4th place finish.”

Furthermore, Adrian Sutil expressed his eagerness to return to the Lombard circuit: « This track is historic for Formula 1! And then, there’s always a great atmosphere thanks to the presence of Italian supporters. It’s exciting to race at Monza ».

This year, Force India doesn’t stand out on a particular circuit. The VJM04 has shown consistency on all tracks. This is why the driver is optimistic for the race. « We have observed that our results do not vary from one weekend to another and that the type of circuit does not influence the car’s performance. Like Spa, Monza is a low downforce circuit. Moreover, all the cars are now equipped with KERS and DRS. Therefore, our top speed will have little influence. That’s why I expect a good race in Italy ».

Finally, there will be two DRS zones this weekend on the track: « Monza is a circuit where it has never been easy to overtake. 2 zones on the long straights promise a lot of action! And I would like once again to finish in the points at the end », concluded the German.
