The Italian Grand Prix taking place next weekend in Monza will be a special event for Vitantonio Liuzzi. The HRT driver will race in front of his home crowd and hopes to perform well. He would also like to offer a great show for his fans and, if possible, of course, a good result on Sunday afternoon.

Racing for your home Grand Prix is always a source of mixed emotions for a driver. I will be taking the wheel of a Formula 1 car at Monza for the fifth time in my career, and I really want to achieve a good result. I always look forward to racing there because I will be in front of my home crowd, and I want to perform well and make the most of it. I want this Grand Prix to become a special event for my fans, and I have prepared a surprise for them, revealed Vitantonio Liuzzi.

The Italian veteran, however, remains grounded and aware of his car’s shortcomings, but he still hopes to make the most of it, particularly in the slow parts of the Monza circuit, namely the two chicanes.

« On the sporting side, Monza should be a challenging weekend because one of the major issues is to have good mechanical grip for stability when braking before the chicanes, and good traction on exit. Drivers will need to be careful with the first chicane after the starting line, as it can lead to contact with a competitor or going over the kerbs. But at the same time, we must have the best possible speed on the exit to gain positions, » added the HRT driver.
