Saturday: Kovalainen puts Team Lotus in Q2
The Malaysian team was hoping for changing conditions, and that's what they got. And the least that can be said is that Heikki Kovalainen was able to take advantage of it to reach Q2. Jarno Trulli, whose exclusive interview you can find on MotorsInside, got caught in traffic and is ranked 19th.

Heikki Kovalainen – 12th and 16th
I think we can be very happy with our performance today. In the last lap in Q1, I got everything I could out of the car, and reaching Q2 is obviously a great result for the whole team. We had the right plan for those conditions, we executed it on the track, and it paid off. I don’t think I could have gotten much more out of the package we had today, so finishing where we did is a good performance. There should be a dry race tomorrow, and I think the key for us is to ensure both cars finish the Grand Prix. If we can do that, be there to take advantage of anything that might happen, and leave Spa having reached Q2 and having had a solid race, it will be a good weekend for us.
Jarno Trulli – 18th and 19th
« Another good day for the team. Congratulations to Heikki for making it to Q2. For me, things were going pretty well until there was traffic, which ruined my second stint. But the car is quite good when the track is drying, and we are definitely on a good strategy in these conditions, so it’s a real shame not to have gotten the most out of it. But when everyone is out trying to set a time, you always have some issues with traffic, and unfortunately, it disrupted my last stint in Q1 ».

« From our point of view, it’s a good day. Heikki drove very well in these conditions and placing his car in Q2 is a very good result for the whole team. It’s a shame that Jarno found himself in traffic during his last stint, as he also had a chance to go into Q2. But I think we achieved what we wanted to do in both sessions, so it’s very satisfying ».
