Friday: Team Lotus hopes for rain
Rather encouraging under these conditions, Team Lotus's performances could allow them to shine in case of bad conditions on Saturday and Sunday, at least that's what both drivers hope.
Jarno Trulli – 13th and 18th
Even though it was a typical Spa day, it was still very positive for me. Obviously, we knew what the weather conditions would be and we had a program to work nonetheless, so we focused on working on the tires, the engine, and the settings. I think we’re okay for the qualifications, knowing that the weather should be the same as today. A good point is that we weren’t in traffic for all our stints, so I think it’s important for us to keep moving forward and give ourselves a chance to be competitive if something happens during the qualifying and the race.
Heikki Kovalainen – non participation and 20th
« It is always difficult in such conditions to obtain something meaningful, but we went out with the mediums and the softs and we were able to gather some data from those stints that will be useful for Sunday. Tomorrow should be interesting – it is expected to rain, but we have always performed very well in qualifying under changing conditions, so let’s wait and see what we can do in terms of strategy tomorrow afternoon – anything can happen. I am sure it will be a good session for the fans ».
