Friday: Mercedes does not expect miracles
Citing the lack of time between the two Grand Prix, Mercedes drivers Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher, as well as team director Ross Brawn, have no illusions and do not anticipate entering the Top 6 during this Hungarian weekend.

Nico Rosberg – 7th and 7th
« This circuit is always interesting and it’s always satisfying when you complete a clear lap here. We had two good sessions and the short and long runs with the super soft tires were good. Despite this, there is still a lot of work to do to improve our setup for qualifying and to understand how to manage tire degradation. It’s interesting to see how the top 6 evolves from one race to another. We keep pushing to be as close as possible, or even to get into it. »
Michael Schumacher – 8th and 8th
« When you have two races back-to-back, you can’t make many changes to the car between the two weekends, so today’s free practice sessions went according to our expectations. We have the upgrades we’ve been working on during the last two races, but obviously, that doesn’t mean we’re going to be able to gain places. We are going to try to make the most of what we have in our hands for the qualifying and the race.
Ross Brawn, technical director
« We had two decent sessions today with a lot of distance covered for both cars. It’s certain that the tires degrade less quickly when the track is in these conditions, so we were able to gather a lot of information that we will work on tonight. With so little time between this race and Germany, there are no major improvements on the car and we will focus on recent developments to enhance their performance ».
