Hülkenberg with a special helmet for his 200th
Nico Hülkenberg is going to celebrate this weekend, during the Mexico Grand Prix, his 200th race in Formula 1. A perfect opportunity for the Haas driver to wear a special helmet, retracing various moments of his driving career.

The Mexican Grand Prix will be Nico Hülkenberg’s 200th start. The German driver has decided to wear a special helmet for the occasion, made up of several photos of himself throughout his career. A rather quiet career in which the driver has never won a race, or even set foot on a podium. And when asked why he has such a meager record, the driver gives his reasons.
« Yes, I had some opportunities where a podium finish would have been possible with a car that wasn’t at the top. But yes, things happened that prevented it. And if you’re not in the best cars, these opportunities don’t come up so often. So, I guess I missed out on something. That’s how it is », explains the German driver in a press conference.
He, who made his comeback in Formula 1 this year as a Haas driver, will have the opportunity to surpass the participation record of a certain Alain Prost (199). When asked about this milestone, he remains quite reasonable. “It was a time with fewer Grand Prix. Nowadays, it is easier to accumulate a large number of races. […] It still remains an important step, and I am happy to have reached this milestone of 200 Grand Prix. I am excited for this weekend, it’s a cool place, and it will be a bit more special,” says Nico Hülkenberg. It remains to be seen if the driver will start this Sunday.
