For this final day of pre-season testing for the 10th season of Formula E, the electric cars have been grinding the asphalt of the Valencia circuit in a ten-hour uninterrupted session. After four half-days canceled due to a fire that occurred in a garage at the beginning of the week, the FIA had indeed decided to allocate a little more track time to the teams this Friday.

Very lively in Valencia this week, Jaguar once again placed one of its drivers at the top of the time sheets. It is now the turn of the new arrival in the British team, Nick Cassidy, to finish in first place. The vice champion of season 9 thus succeeds his teammate Mitch Evans, who had achieved the best time in the first two days.

Cassidy achieved a time of 1’24”617, just two hundredths off the best time of the week set by Evans on Tuesday. Most importantly, this time is half a second faster than the benchmark set during last season’s winter testing. The cars are improving, and these Gen3 machines are still in the early stages of their development.

Behind the New Zealander, we find Maximilian Günther’s Maserati less than a hundredth behind. The German driver thus confirms the progress seen by his team at the end of last season. He is ahead of Evans, Frijns and Wehrlein who complete the Top 5.

Like the day before, the gaps remained very small as the first 19 drivers were gathered within half a second.

During this day, the teams had the opportunity to do race simulations, test the activation of the Attack Mode, and try out fast charging in the pits.

The entire FE paddock will now meet on January 13th for the season opener at Mexico City circuit.
