Sunday: Everything is going well for Red Bull
First and third: the Red Bull drivers continue to monopolize the podiums and the title is inexorably approaching for a victorious Vettel.
Sebastian Vettel – 1st
From the outside, I’m not sure it was noticeable, but I love when it’s just between you and the car on each lap. Of course, I had pressure behind me, especially because the strategy was slightly different from Mark’s and Fernando’s—sometimes they pitted earlier and sometimes later. I had created a gap before the first stop, but I came out just ahead of them and had to push harder while assessing the tire condition and trying to predict what it would be like at the end of the stint. I really like this circuit. Last year, I had quite a calm weekend here, and this year too. It’s fantastic, the team did a phenomenal job preparing the car. Even though we come here year after year thinking it will be tougher for us, as there aren’t really fast corners, we arrived here and had a flawless weekend. I’m obviously very happy with the result.
Mark Webber – 3rd
« I think we should have finished second today. It was a great race with Fernando. To be honest, I think it was my best race of the year until the last stop. It was quite close between the three of us, we were trying to go as fast as possible while managing the tires at the same time. I was very happy with how the race was going until the last stop and that’s my fault. I was worried that Fernando would stop before me and we didn’t really know how the medium tire would behave on the out lap, but it was a risk I decided to take. We had a gearbox problem at the end, but we were ahead of the McLaren so we were able to manage and pay attention to the gearbox ».

« First of all, I would like to say that the rules have changed, but not the results, which is a very good thing for the whole team. Everyone here and in the stands did a really good job today. I would also like to congratulate and thank everyone working for Renault at the factory. It’s another great result for the team and we have more points than the others, but we need to keep working. We will see where we stand in two weeks when there will be new rules again ».
