The F1 Barometer after the Spanish GP
After each Grand Prix, Motorsinside.com offers you an update on the drivers and teams in form at the moment, thanks to our consistency ranking. At the end of each race, the classified drivers are awarded 24 points (for the first) down to 1 point (for the last), which creates the consistency ranking that you can discover in our "Rankings" section.

After securing his 4th victory of the season in Spain, out of 5 races, Sebastian Vettel remains the solid leader of the consistency standings. Moreover, the same top 5 drivers are in the same order as after the Turkish Grand Prix.
The Mercedes drivers are making strides with Michael Schumacher gaining 5 places, entering the top part of the standings, and his teammate Nico Rosberg gaining 4 places. This progress in the last 4 races is also seen in the constructors’ standings where Mercedes secures 3rd place right under the noses of Ferrari and Lotus Renault Grand Prix, though still at a reasonable distance from McLaren and Red Bull.
Nick Heidfeld, who has once again been unlucky in qualifying, is the 7th most consistent driver over the last four races, and is ahead of his teammate, Vitaly Petrov, who has been more discreet in races since his podium in Melbourne, and therefore logically loses 2 places in the F1 barometer.
Kamui Kobayashi, 12th after the first four races, moves up 3 places and confirms Sauber’s form as they establish themselves as the 6th strongest team on the grid over the past four Grand Prix.
If Felipe Massa is the author of a spectacular drop from 6th to 11th place, partly due to his last two very average races, Williams is clearly making a comeback. Outperformed by Team Lotus and Virgin, the British team has found a place more in line with its standing… although: the men from Woking have finally reconnected with reliability, and it shows.
