Team Lotus welcomes two new suppliers

As it takes a new turn with the acquisition of the Caterham manufacturer, Tony Fernandes' team continues its development by welcoming new suppliers. The helmets and goggles for Team Lotus mechanics will now be supplied by Ruroc and their tools by Rodac.

Rodac is not a newcomer in the Formula 1 paddocks, as the Dutch company was already a sponsor and official supplier of the defunct Super Aguri F1 during its brief existence. Let’s hope the Norfolk team doesn’t meet the same fate.

The partnership with Team Lotus will take the same form as Rodac becomes both an official supplier and sponsor of the team. This means that the team offers visibility on its communication platforms (press releases, website, trucks, and garages) in exchange for receiving tools provided by Rodac. However, the brand’s logo will not appear on the cars of Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen, indicating that the contribution is not considered sufficient to reach this level of maximum exposure.

The same logic is embedded in the agreement signed with Ruroc: the mechanics will now be equipped with RG-1 helmets, which also include protective goggles. The press release announcing the good news indicates that 600 million viewers around the world will be able to see the RG-1 helmets and goggles in the pit lane at every race, everywhere in the world. However, this would require that the pit stops of both drivers are broadcast on television, which is rarely the case since they do not occupy the front rows. Nevertheless, the brand’s logo will be present on the same communication channels as those planned for Rodac, which will help strengthen the impact of this equipment supply contract.
