Interview with Kubica: The Whole Truth About His Health Condition
Ten weeks after his accident, the Pole answers several questions, some of which concern his state of health.

Hello everyone! I’m back. Sorry for the time it took me to reach out, but I preferred to wait for the moment when I could share good news with you. First, I want to pay tribute and thank all my fans whose support has been amazing since my accident in Italy in February. I have been literally inundated with letters as well as various gifts, and the flow hasn’t stopped yet. I also want to thank everyone in the Formula 1 world who showed me sympathy in these difficult circumstances.
Robert, 10 weeks after your accident, how do you feel?
Robert Kubica: I’m starting to feel much better now. The recovery is progressing in the right direction. My strength and weight are improving day by day and as a result, I will be leaving Santa Corona Hospital very soon.
When exactly?
Robert Kubica: I don’t know the exact date for now, but I hope it will happen in the next 10 days.
Regarding your hand injury, what mobility have you regained?
Robert Kubica: The mobility of my hand is still limited, but it’s simply normal in this kind of situation. Mainly because the muscles in my arm are still very weak due to their long immobility. Things are improving every day.
Could you elaborate a bit on your rehabilitation program?
Robert Kubica: As soon as I leave the hospital, I will return to my home in Monaco for a short period of complete rest. Then I will join Dr. Ceccarelli’s facility in Italy to start an in-depth rehabilitation program and preliminary gentle fitness sessions. The two programs may gradually overlap depending on how quickly I recover.
The reaction of the fans was extraordinary. How much did it help you in your recovery?
Robert Kubica: I must admit that it was really impressive! And yes, it helped me enormously. I had no idea that so many fans supported me! I am very flattered and I promise them that, upon my return, I will give them great satisfaction to reward them for their support.
Have you stayed in regular contact with the team since your accident?
Robert Kubica: Yes, of course! In particular, since the beginning of the season, I have stayed in touch with my engineers to know what is happening during the race weekends. They send me race reports, so I stay informed as if I were present on the track. Eric Boullier also constantly inquires about the progress of my health condition.
Did you watch the Grand Prix this year? And what do you think of the performances of LRGP so far?
Robert Kubica: Yes, I have watched them and our start to the season has been strong. The potential of the car, which I felt during the tests in Valencia in February, seems to be confirmed. As is now customary, it is important that the developments prepared at Enstone bring constant improvements to maintain this level of performance. The guys have done a very good job with this car, and I am convinced they will continue to improve it.
To conclude, what message would you like to convey to your supporters in the world of Formula 1?
Robert Kubica: Enjoy the F1 show even though I’m not at the races at the moment. That’s what I’m doing currently, as if I were a regular spectator. On my side, I will use this painful experience to come back as strong as possible.
