Starting 6th after his last launched lap in qualifying was cancelled, Max Verstappen still managed to win against his opponents after taking control of the race mid-course. The now triple world champion thus crosses the 50 career victories mark, respectively 1 and 2 lengths ahead of Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel, all this at just 25 years old. Did you say prodigy?

He still had to fight at the end of the race against a superb Lewis Hamilton. On a good day, the Brit would have needed a few more laps to be able to challenge his Dutch counterpart for the win. Second at the finish, the Mercedes driver was however disqualified just like the poleman Charles Leclerc, after the post-race investigation under Parc Fermé which stipulated a plank that was too thin under the car, most likely due to the use of the kerbs and a setting too close to the ground.

Something to create disbelief among actors and fans… And to offer the Tweet of the weekend!

So it’s Lando Norris who is the first beneficiary of Hamilton’s demotion. Author of a flawless race, the McLaren driver took the lead from the start, only to let go after the first round of pit stops. The Brit adds a 4th consecutive podium and was even elected Driver of the Day for his 100th Grand Prix.

On the French side, Pierre Gasly maximized points this weekend with a car always in an absolute no man’s land. The Norman was also wearing a helmet in tribute to François Cevert, a French driver who tragically died in the United States 50 years ago.

The Alpine driver also distinguished himself before the Grand Prix, full of complicity with his former teammate Yuki Tsunoda, who also had a good race as well as his first best lap in a race, around a basketball hoop…

The result was diametrically opposed for Esteban Ocon. Indeed, the winner of the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix collided with Oscar Piastri’s McLaren on the first lap, causing his premature withdrawal after only a few laps of the race. Enough to unwittingly inspire internet users…

Always a fan of good humor and derision, our colleagues from Canal + have struck again, this time with Romain Grosjean alongside the unequalled Julien Fébreau with an original t-shirt prominently featuring his former boss!

Next Grand Prix this weekend in Mexico, October 29 for the Mexican Grand Prix.
