One of the hopes of French motor sport, François Cevert, died 50 years ago, on the Watkins Glen circuit. The Parisian had won his only victory in his career and could not achieve any others. MotorsInside has in fact dedicated a magazine to him, it can be read here.

F1 makes a stop on Texan soil and Pierre Gasly saw it as a perfect opportunity to pay homage to the one who could have been a world champion because of the talent recounted by his peers and observers of the time.

The Alpine’s Norman has equipped himself with a fully blue helmet, which incorporates the design of March and Tyrrell’s pilot. This will make him recognizable compared to his teammate Esteban Ocon.

The No. 10 thus allows François Cevert to reappear in the landscape of F1, 50 years after his tragic accident. And if it was a lucky charm?
