Alpine dresses in blue at Jerez

The tests continue for the brand with the arrowed A: the A424 left the Aragon circuit to join that of Jerez, in Andalusia, at the beginning of this week. The homologation date is approaching and the final adjustments must be finalized.

Since its debugging at Le Castellet, the Alpine A424, which will join the extraordinary Hypercar plateau next season, has once again taken to the track at Jerez de la Frontera at the beginning of this week.

But this time, it’s with a blue livery that the French prototype drove, still in the hands of Nicolas Lapierre, Matthieu Vaxivière and Charles Milesi. This instead of the carbon livery used since the first tests.

The details of this preparation remain quite secret, but the testing program logically focuses on simulations of long relays. This was the case for Lamborghini on the Almiera circuit, not far from there.

Oreca also makes its debut

The French chassis manufacturer will make its entry into the premier world endurance championship class alongside its historic rivals such as Multimatic (with Porsche) Dallara (Cadillac and BMW) as well as Ligier (Lamborghini). The work is linked to Alpine of course, but the working base proves promising.

Oreca has already proven itself with the very high-performing Acura ARX-06 on the other side of the Atlantic, even if the title was lost in favor of Cadillac. The experience in LMP2, where it is alone, could also be beneficial.

This collaboration with Alpine should therefore allow the two tricolor entities to very quickly rank well in the hierarchy, facing the nine other manufacturers officially engaged.
