The four-time F1 world champion, Alain Prost, will be the drivers’ representative steward for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix. The former Formula 1 driver will join the delegates for the first race of this year to ensure total transparency and fairness in all decisions made. This new approach has been desired by the governing body, the International Automobile Federation.
Prost participated in 199 Grand Prix between 1980 and 1993, winning championships with McLaren in 1985, 1986, and 1989, and with Williams in 1993.
He then returned to the sport to run his own team, Prost Grand Prix, in 1997 (formerly Ligier), but the small team had to withdraw due to a lack of sponsorship before the start of the 2002 season.
The 55-year-old Frenchman has since raced in the Andros Trophy, where he is a double champion.
