The Force India reserve driver, Paul di Resta, will have his first experience with the team on Wednesday for the opening of the test week in Jerez. The winner of the 2004 ‘McLaren Autosport BRDC Award’ will therefore drive the new VJM03 this week and then on the first day of the Barcelona event on February 25th.
Di Resta, who tested the 2009 version of the Force India during the December tests intended for young drivers, will have the chance to participate in these tests with the aim of obtaining the Super License necessary to participate in the first free practice sessions before the Grand Prix.
Di Resta really secured a prime spot at Force India as he is one of the only reserve drivers to take part in off-season testing. Gary Paffett for McLaren was the first to do so during the first event in Valencia.
Tonio Liuzzi and Adrian Sutil will share the remaining six test days for Force India between Jerez and Barcelona before the season opener in Bahrain.
