The Renault team experienced a particularly rainy day in Spain today. Vitaly Petrov, at the wheel of the R30 for this first day of testing in Jerez, was able to complete only 27 laps.
Vitaly Petrov – Race Car Driver:
« The bad weather limited driving today. Generally, I really enjoy driving in these conditions, but it was frustrating to lose so much time because of the rain. I hope the conditions will be better at the end of the week. »
Alan Permane – Chief Engineer:
« With the rain, we were only able to do one run on a dry track this morning with a set of scrubbed tires. We then focused on system evaluation work in the garage and discovered a slight brake issue that we fixed by the end of the day. Robert Kubica will be at the wheel of the R30 tomorrow. The weather should be much better for this second day in Jerez. »
