The new F10 from Ferrari launched in Italy

Ferrari has just presented to the world its new single-seater, the F10. The car, with which the team hopes to win the 2010 championships after a difficult season in 2009, is the result of several months of design work. Ferrari decided to change its focus for 2010 following its disastrous start to the 2009 campaign.

Ferrari won only one race last year, finishing fourth in the Constructors’ Championship. However, the Scuderia has high hopes for the new car, especially with the double world champion Fernando Alonso joining Felipe Massa in the team.

« This championship will be very important for us,” said team boss Stefano Domenicali. « The last championship, for various reasons, was not very positive, that’s why we want to be more competitive and that’s what Ferrari deserves to have. »

He added: « We have two new drivers, why two new drivers? Fernando Alonso has been a world champion twice and we tell him that after the second, there is always a third. He is already among the greatest F1 champions. It’s the right time for him, for us, he wants to succeed and we want to make him succeed. »

« We are talking about a new version of Felipe after a spectacular championship with the accident in Hungary. Felipe comes back to us different and he has all the qualities to prove that he can succeed. Good luck to both of them, » concluded the Italian.

It’s a great emotion for me, » Alonso admitted. « I want to thank the entire team because they have worked very hard these past few months to create this dream, this new car. His teammate, Felipe Massa, is also enthusiastic about the sight of the new car: « It is without a doubt a great pleasure to be here at another Ferrari presentation; it’s a special moment because last year was very difficult, » said Massa.

« I had this accident that stopped a lot of things. I am proud and very happy to be here and I feel that I want to work even more. I really hope that it will be a very competitive car, that we will fight for the championship and that our Ferrari will be in pole position. We are really willing to do it. »
