Valentino Rossi spent a few hours yesterday in Ferrari’s Formula 1 simulator in Maranello as part of his preparation for the Barcelona event.
Scuderia Ferrari announced earlier this week that it will honor its promise by giving the MotoGP champion another opportunity to get behind the wheel of an F1 car. This is actually a reward for winning a ninth world title in motorcycle racing last season. Due to current testing restrictions in Formula 1, Rossi will have to use a 2008 single-seater (the F2008) for his run, which will take place at the Catalunya track next Wednesday and Thursday.
Rossi prepared for this test with Ferrari engineers and had the chance to try out the Italian team’s latest F1 simulator. He also had the opportunity to sit in and drive the new 458 road car on the Fiorano test track during the team’s visit.
He is now focusing on his test next week because a new opportunity like this cannot be missed!
