Contrary to what we announced a few days ago, the joint launch of the 2010 single-seaters by the Formula 1 teams now seems compromised. The F1 teams had agreed at the beginning of this month to organize an event in downtown Valencia to unveil the 2010 cars of the different teams.

It had been said that this event would not only help reduce team launch costs but also allow fans to get closer to the sport. However, although the teams were in favor of this idea, reaching an agreement on the specific details seems impossible.

It was feared that some of the new teams wouldn’t receive enough publicity compared to big names like Ferrari with local hero Fernando Alonso or McLaren and its two world champions, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Even if work continues in an attempt to resolve these issues to make the most of it, if no progress is made in the coming days, the event will have no choice but to be canceled.

Consequently, the teams would individually launch their cars likely in the second half of January as they will then have to prepare for the first test of the year in Valencia, in February.
