The teams plan to unveil their 2010 cars during a joint launch in Valencia, Spain, at the end of January. Members of the Formula 1 Teams Association (FOTA) recently met in Monaco to discuss their plans for the upcoming season. On the agenda was the joint launch of the 2010 cars.

The CEO of Mercedes GP, Nick Fry, stated at the ‘Motor Sport Business’ Forum that the idea has now received team approval. Only the details need to be finalized now. It is understood that the event will take place in Valencia at the end of January before the first series of private tests in 2010 a few days later on the same track.

« I don’t want to go into details, but we have agreed among all the teams to make a joint launch. We want to make it a special event. We are receiving a lot of help from a marketing and communication standpoint from the circuit, » said Nick Fry.

« I wouldn’t want to let the cat out of the bag about what we’re going to do, but it’s going to be extremely innovative. It will be a clear demonstration that we can work together. We intend to make something much more user-friendly. »

Since the release of this information, the FOM has canceled its joint launch.
