Felipe Massa regained the feeling of being on track as he settled into an F200 at Mugello on Tuesday, but was only able to complete 30 laps. The poor weather conditions prevented him from driving for most of the day. His session was then cut short once night began to fall.

Massa stayed near Mugello yesterday, Wednesday, in the hope of covering more mileage: “I am happy because settling into this car is always a pleasure, especially on a track like Mugello,” said the Brazilian. “Everything went well, except for not being able to drive in the afternoon. Hopefully, I can be back in the seat tomorrow.”

Let us recall that these tests were authorized under the testing ban because Massa used a two-year-old car with demonstration tires. He also used a 2007 car in October during an initial experience after recovering from his severe head injury. He also did a few laps in this season’s F60 in Valencia last month.

The Brazilian had started his tests on Tuesday but was limited to only 30 laps due to poor weather conditions. The improvement in conditions yesterday allowed Massa to complete 60 laps in the Ferrari. He then returned to Brazil last night after the birth of his son two weeks ago.

« Even though I was driving a completely different car compared to next year’s, I have good feelings, which gives me good hopes for the upcoming season. »

« I was immediately very fast and nothing seems to have changed in my driving style compared to before. I want to thank Ferrari for this gift, which, with my son, makes this Christmas even more special. »
