The German company Henkel claims that a sponsorship contract apparently agreed upon with the Mercedes GP team by a former employee acting without authorization will not be valid.

Henkel issued a statement confirming that it has no responsibility in this three-year contract, worth 90 million euros. The firm also informed Mercedes that the agreement was invalid last September.

This statement shows that this matter handled at the time by Brawn GP should have been investigated further. It was the transition from Brawn GP to Mercedes GP that caused the transaction to fail because the Henkel representative had negotiated with a Brawn GP employee who is no longer in their position at Mercedes GP today. The matter is the subject of a legal dispute.
