32 and 4: the respective number of appearances of Suzuka and Fuji in the Formula 1 World Championship.

52: the number of laps to be completed on Sunday at Suzuka.

5,821 : the distance of the circuit, in its current configuration

24: in 36 editions, the Grand Prix of Japan has seen this number of different winners, since 1978.

17: is the number of times the pole sitter has converted it into a victory. This means, purely statistically speaking, that the poleman has a 50% chance of winning the Grand Prix.

2: In Japan, only in Suzuka in fact, there are only two Japanese who have achieved a podium on their home soil: Aguri Suzuki, in 1990 with Larousse, and Kamui Kobayashi, in 2012, with Sauber.

6: that’s the record for most wins at the Japanese Grand Prix. It is held by Michael Schumacher.

8: another record held by the German, the number of pole positions in Japan. He achieved five consecutive pole positions from 1998 to 2002.

16: This story, we have told you about it in our highlights: it is to this day the biggest comeback of a winner of the Japanese Grand Prix. The credit for such mastery goes to Kimi Räikkönen who, in 2005, snatched victory in the last lap, starting 17th.

3: The record for consecutive wins in Japan. Michael Schumacher achieved this between 2000 and 2002.

10 : since its introduction to the calendar in 1976, the Japanese Grand Prix has not taken place ten times. In 2020 and 2021, Covid prevented the holding of the Japanese round.

2: Only twice has Japan reached the top of the podium at home. Not with the drivers, but with the engine manufacturers. Honda won at home with Ayrton Senna in 1988 and Gerhard Berger in 1991, both driving for McLaren-Honda.

12: This is the number of times Suzuka has celebrated a world champion. The Japanese Grand Prix was often the last race of the seasons, but that has not been the case since 2003. Last year, Max Verstappen clinched his second world title there, with still four races left to go.
