Red Bull is adding an additional member to its long list of young drivers who are part of the Red Bull Junior Team. The Austrian team has just announced the arrival of Pepe Marti, a 18-year-old F3 driver, to its academy. The Spaniard is wrapping up his second season in Formula 3 with Campos Racing.

The first year had not been a success, and Marti had only scored two points (in the last round at Monza). However, this season, the Barcelona native is one of the strong contenders in the championship with three wins and a third place in the championship before the final round.

Until now, not supported by any F1 team, he joins Red Bull for the upcoming seasons. « It’s a childhood dream come true to be part of a Formula 1 team, Martí savors. « Red Bull has been the leading force in recent years and is the reigning champion. It’s an organization that has done so much for the sport for so long, with many champions and young drivers, so being part of this team is incredible for me. »

« I’m really excited to start and get off to a good start with the team. I hope it’s a relationship that will last a long time. I’m really proud. I’ve had challenging moments and better moments in my career, and for this to happen to me, I’m extremely grateful. »

Marti becomes the second F3 driver within the Red Bull Junior Team after Sebastian Montoya, the son of former F1 driver and winner of the Indianapolis 500, Juan-Pablo Montoya.
