The starting numbers for the drivers and teams participating in the DTM championship have just been assigned. In this new year, Jamie Green is the only driver with the same number as in 2007, the number 5. Mattias Ekström, reigning world champion, moves up in the hierarchy and now holds the number 1 spot.

His teammate, Martin Tomczyk is No. 2 with his Audi. Behind him, there are several Mercedes-Benz cars from Spengler’s No. 3 position to Lauda’s No. 8 position.

The newcomer, Ralf Schumacher, has been assigned the number 11, the same he had last year in Formula 1 with Toyota.

Only one name is missing from the list, No. 21 for Audi. Some rumors suggest the major comeback of Christijan Albers. But no official confirmation has been made yet, stay tuned…
