Felipe Drugovich will be driving in FP1 at Monza
The Aston Martin team announced today that its reserve driver, last year's F2 champion Felipe Drugovich, will be taking Lance Stroll's place for the first free practice session at Monza.

Aston Martin’s reserve driver, Felipe Drugovich, will replace Lance Stroll on Friday during the first free practice session of the Italian Grand Prix. The Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team announced it in a statement published on its social media platforms. « We are thrilled to offer Felipe a new opportunity to drive the AMR23. He has demonstrated his abilities during the pre-season tests, making an essential contribution to the initial development of the car by the team. », said Mike Krack, the boss of the British team.
The 23-year-old Brazilian had already taken the wheel of Aston Martin’s 2023 single-seater. He had replaced the injured Stroll during pre-season testing in Bahrain in February. This will also be his second practice session in competition, as he had substituted for the Canadian in the AMR22 in Abu Dhabi last season for FP1.
Felipe Drugovich is making his comeback at Monza, on the same circuit where he secured the Formula 2 championship title a year ago.
