Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has become a team owner after creating a karting team that will compete in the German championship.
The team will be known as KSM Motorsport and will be managed by Schumacher. Other people, friends of the German, have the status of co-owners, such as Mr. Peter Kaiser and Thomas Muchov.
“I have always had a passion for karting, I grew up with this discipline,” Schumacher said in the pages of Gazzetta dello Sport.
« I owe everything to karting and today I would be nothing without it. »
« Even when I was a young boy, and F1 was still a dream, I always thought that one day I would work in karting. A team with my friends is exactly what I had imagined. »
One of the team’s drivers will be Carlos Sainz Jr., son of the two-time world rally champion Carlos Sainz.
