There are still a number of seats available within the Audi and Mercedes teams for the DTM championship. The one making the most headlines at the moment is Ralf Schumacher. No contract has been signed yet, but a plan seems to have been considered.
But if the younger Schumacher brother were about to sign a contract, he would receive around 2 million euros and drive a 2007 Mercedes C-Class before moving on next year to a single-seater of the same caliber but much more recent as it would be a 2009 model.
Three other drivers are also in the running to drive a Mercedes in 2008. They are Christian Klien, Marco Engel, and Michael Ammermüller.
Engel could be present for Mücke Motorsport, alongside Susie Stoddart.
At Audi, this time, three names were mentioned. Katherine Legge is almost certain to drive for Futurecom TME and would therefore represent the female strength of the German manufacturer.
Christian Albers and Olivier Jarvis are front-runners for securing a race seat with Audi. Albers would have a 2006 car and Jarvis a more recent one, from 2007.
