The officials of the Circuit de Catalunya have confirmed that in the coming weeks, a number of works must be carried out to be at the forefront in terms of safety. This is in preparation for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix scheduled for April 27.
Following requests from both Formula 1 and MotoGP leaders, modifications must be made to a number of turns to improve run-off areas, curbs in chicanes, and tire barriers. Additionally, the track must be resurfaced.
Ramon Praderas, general manager of the circuit, stated: « Although the modifications to be made seem minor, we have sacrificed a few days of activities to improve our circuit as required by our philosophy, which is to be one of the best. »
The first Formula 1 event of the year is scheduled to take place on the circuit between February 1st and 3rd for private testing.
