The Japanese Takashi Kogure will be put to the test with the Honda Racing team this week on the Valencia circuit, the team announced.
The 27-year-old driver, who has also participated in rounds of the Super GT Series in Japan, will be on track Wednesday and Thursday with the RA107, the 2007 car.
The test is a reward for his participation in the « Formula Dream » project. A project aimed at supporting young drivers in their career aspirations.
« This is my second chance to drive a Formula 1 car, and I’m really looking forward to it. I hope to do my best and use all my racing experience in Japan to deliver a nice performance, » said Kogure.
« I expect to learn a lot during this experience, particularly from working alongside an F1 team that features two of the best drivers in the world. »
« I would like to say a big thank you to the Honda Racing F1 Team and the team’s ‘Formula Dream’ project for giving me this opportunity, » he added.
The RA108, Honda’s new car, will make its debut a little later in the week before its launch on Tuesday, January 29.
