Red Bull Racing’s team principal Christian Horner confirmed that Sébastien Buemi will become the official test and reserve driver for the team for 2008.

Aged 19, the Swiss made his F1 debut last summer with tests conducted on behalf of Red Bull. Last year, it was the German Michael Ammermuller who occupied this role for the first half of the season.

« We will confirm today that Sébastien Buemi will be our third driver, » Horner said during the launch of the new Red Bull in Jerez today.

Buemi will also be present for a full season in the GP2 Series category this year. And for good reason, last year he only participated in the second part of the season where he replaced Ammermuller within the ART team.
