Mark Webber believes that his team, Red Bull Racing, will make great strides forward this season thanks to the stability of the workforce.

He stated that the number one goal of his team is to develop a reliable vehicle after a season in which several mechanical failures occurred.

« I am really looking forward to the season, » said Webber on the Autosport International Show stage.

« The most important thing for us this year is continuity. We have the same engine, we have the same drivers, we have the same technical staff. »

« All the engineers who work with David Coulthard have worked with me, so that will help us find each other on Sunday afternoon. »

Webber pins his hopes on the contribution of Geoff Willis, who was appointed technical director at Red Bull last July. He hopes that Willis can replicate his experience with BAR-Honda in 2004, when the Japanese team finished second in the Constructors’ Championship.

« I hope he will do the same thing he did with Honda at the time, taking into account the differences between the two teams. He was a big part of Honda’s success in terms of reliability. »

« It’s something we must do, we need to be reliable, we must understand every mistake and how to tackle each Grand Prix. Geoff has a big role to play in the team, there is no doubt about it, » he continued.

« He will work with Adrian Newey to ensure that deadlines are met and that we can race week after week. »

« We did a good job against Honda and Toyota in 2007, only because they did a bad job. We still need to step up our efforts one year, there is no doubt about it. »

« We saw the rate of improvement in the car at the end of last year, so I hope we can continue at this pace. We all know that we need to improve our reliability. So we will try to do a better job to see our cars cross the finish line, » concluded Webber.
