McLaren Mercedes has modified its 2008 car launch plan, as there will not be an official presentation, according to some sources on Thursday.
Norbert Haug from Mercedes motorsport confirmed to the German press agency SID that the new MP4-23 will be presented on January 7 at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
McLaren had already announced that its new cars would be on track for the first time during the Jerez tests, which will take place in January.
The president of the parent company Daimler (which is actually Mercedes), Dieter Zetsche, must attend the launch. This proves that Mercedes is still invested in F1 despite a rather tumultuous 2007 season.
