The calendar for the 2008 FIA World Rally Championship was officially announced today at the World Council meeting. There will only be fifteen events, still across four continents.
There are a few changes compared to the proposal made at the end of last season where eighteen events were to share sixteen spots. Four events have not been selected. South Africa, Cyprus, Poland, and Australia do not have a spot. However, Mexico appears. Argentina and Jordan – which will host its first world rally – have had their dates modified.
We are also able to confirm to you that the Monte-Carlo Rally, which will therefore open the season on January 24, will take place for the second consecutive year around Valence, the prefecture of the Drome. More information in a few weeks.
