New Zealand once again demonstrated its strength today in Brno, Czech Republic, for the second meeting of the 2007/08 A1GP season. Johnny Reid outpaced the Netherlands and Switzerland. Results
Johnny Reid made a superb comeback. Starting 7th on the grid, the New Zealander was 2nd after the first pit stop behind the Netherlands.
At the second pit stop, the good coordination of his team (limited to two people per wheel for each refueling) allowed him to regain first place and secure a double victory.
The Netherlands then held on to maintain their lead over Switzerland, which finished 3rd with Neel Jani. China secured an impressive 4th place with Cheng Cong Fu, who even set the fastest lap in the race and scored an additional point.
Nicolas Lapierre ends the day in 5th position, 4 seconds behind China. Ireland, Brazil, and Germany complete the top 8.
Erik Janis, at home, finishes in a frustrating 12th position, but it remains the best of the weekend.
