The FIA Court of Appeal met today in Paris to hear the appeal from Scuderia Toro Rosso that was filed after the Japanese Grand Prix.

Little reminders: During the Japanese Grand Prix, which, as we recall, took place in deplorable weather conditions, Vitantonio Liuzzi reportedly overtook his competitor Adrian Sutil from Spyker while a yellow flag was being waved. However, according to the regulations, any overtaking when yellow flags are waved is strictly prohibited.

Given this fact, the Italian driver was, of course, penalized. He had 25 seconds deducted from his race time achieved that very day. As a result, on paper, Adrian Sutil ended up ahead of his opponent. There would have been no issue if this had happened with drivers positioned between 10th and 22nd place. However, Liuzzi officially finished 8th, a position that earns a point in the standings…

The war was therefore declared by Toro Rosso, who saw the opportunity at the time to lose its first point in the constructors’ standings in a very negative light.

The small team continues to fight to achieve their goals, even though in China, they have scored 8 points in the championship.

The result of this call will be published on Saturday afternoon.
