This Chinese GP will remain etched in the minds of everyone involved with the small Scuderia for a long time. After coming close to the feat last week in Japan due to a simple youthful mistake, this week Vettel and also Liuzzi have made a big impact in the world of F1.

And for good reason, the young German finishes just off the podium (4th) behind “the stars” of this 2007 season. This is a significant achievement. Liuzzi did not disappoint as he brought 3 additional points to his team by securing 6th place.

Sebastian Vettel – 4th

“4th place! A fantastic race. At the beginning, it was difficult to imagine such a result because I started from 12th place on the grid. As the race progressed, I used my speed to overtake several competitors ahead of me. Although sometimes I really took a lot of risks because the track was very slippery. I kept running as fast as I could. After passing Kovalainen, I had a clear track ahead of me and I could push harder.”

“Just when I was changing my tires to dry ones, the rain came, but fortunately, it left quickly. I battled with Jenson, but when we realized he was on very good times, I didn’t worry. The last 20 laps were incredible and although I had the situation under control, I didn’t slow down. A fantastic day for the entire team, especially for Tonio in 6th place. Yesterday I wasn’t happy with my grid penalty but today I got my revenge on the track.”

Vitantonio Liuzzi – 6th

“It was a great race from start to finish with everything going perfectly. I think Sebastian’s one-stop strategy was better, but it doesn’t matter now. It’s fantastic for the team that both drivers scored points. I made no mistakes and had some great battles with Williams, Renault, and BMW.”

“I don’t think we could have achieved more than this result. I am really happy for the team who truly deserves these points. Many times this year, we have proven that we are capable of scoring points, but for some reason, we never got them. Now everyone can be happy and it proves that the team is developing and that all the engineers are doing a great job. Now we can go to Brazil with a really positive mindset after demonstrating what we could do, here and in Fuji last week. We deserve this result.”

Gerard Berger – Co-owner

“Thanks to these very good results and the fantastic efforts of the team and the two drivers, the team scores its first points in the championship. We had worked very, very hard and sometimes this year we were a bit unlucky. Today everything came together.”

“This team works so hard. It is efficient and fights hard with limited resources, but always does an exceptional job. The immediate future? Go to Sao Paulo and try to get even more points.”
