The weekend experienced by Williams is far from being their best since the season started. The team had major performance issues all weekend, did poorly in qualifying yesterday, and today has no drivers in the top 10. The strategies employed were planned for rainy weather, but the different weather changes and the drying of the track did not help the English team.

Nico Rosberg finished only 16th after being forced to make an additional pit stop due to a puncture, while Wurz, who decided to end his career as a regular driver today, finished 12th, despite being bold in opting for dry tires at the right moment.

Alexander Wurz – 12th

« I would have wanted much more rain today. The circumstances were good for me at the beginning and I was the first to choose the tires, which worked well at the right time in these conditions, which made us think we would stand out. But then, we felt a problem similar to yesterday with a glaring lack of grip and I lost a few places… »

Nico Rosberg – 16th

« Nothing was favorable for us today. I got off to a very bad start and then under wet conditions, I fought hard to recover several positions. Yesterday. On lap 29, I suffered a puncture on the left rear, but I don’t know what could have caused it. Obviously, this cost me an extra pit stop, and it was already over for me… »

« I look forward to Brazil now to hopefully finish this season with a good result. »

Patrick Head – Technical Director

« Our starting grid positions somewhat dictated our race from the start, especially since we weren’t lucky. »

« Nico [Rosberg] drove perfectly with a good car and caught up with the others, but he had a puncture, which also caused some issues with the car. As a result, he made an extra stop, without which he could have finished in the points. Wurz had a difficult race, especially starting from 16th place. »

« The race was disappointing for the drivers and the team. But I must still congratulate the Toro Rosso drivers who really had a very good race! »
