Timo Glock had to score 4 more points than his rival, Lucas Di Grassi, during this final race of the GP2 season. He did much better as he finished first in Spain, in Valencia, and thus took the opportunity to win his first GP2 championship. His team, iSport, is also crowned champion, succeeding ART Grand Prix.
Timo Glock wins another victory in GP2. He started from second place but took the lead from pole-sitter Javier Villa after two laps. He then held onto the lead and, to top it off, also recorded the fastest lap of the race.
Lucas Di Grassi started 23rd after his retirement yesterday and needed to score 4 more points than Glock but ultimately couldn’t even finish in the points. He finished 13th and second in the championship.
Soucek, Garcia and Pantano complete the top 5. Martinez, another Spaniard, who started 5th, was already 3rd by the second corner but fell victim to a track exit. He ultimately finished last, two laps behind the leaders.
Pantano, who won his first victory yesterday, finished 8th today. He was unable to gain an advantage over Nakajima (7th) and Luca Filippi, 6th.
Zuber, Glock’s teammate at iSport, finished 12th, blocking Di Grassi’s access to a better position to prevent the Italian from threatening the new 2007 GP2 champion.
Nicolas Lapierre only finished 21st. The French driver did not have a good weekend. He was plagued by several mechanical issues.

Art Grand Prix with Di Grassi and Aleshin, who finished 20th, finished second in the team standings but was not able, unlike in other years, to secure a victory.
