During the New Year Honours ceremony in 2024, hosted by King Charles III, Christian Horner was awarded the rank of Commander of the British Empire.

Already named Officer of the British Empire in 2013, after his team’s domination and four consecutive double titles achieved, the leader of Red Bull has now been promoted. Indeed, this latest honor elevates Christian Horner to the rank of Commander of the Order of the British Empire and once again recognizes his achievements in Formula 1 as well as in the motor sports industry.

The main person involved spoke on the official Red Bull website: “Receiving an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire, in French) was an unexpected distinction ten years ago, and receiving this second award, a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire, in French), is one for which I am extremely grateful and infinitely honored,” he declares.

“It is a great privilege to lead and work alongside such a phenomenal team like Red Bull Racing and also to work in an industry that contributes so much to the UK economy,” continues the head of the Austrian racing team.

« I am considerably proud of what we have achieved with Red Bull in Formula 1 and in the broader field of high technology, and I am extremely honored to be recognized for this effort,” nobly concludes the new Commander of the British Empire.

A career filled with success.

In addition to his two personal honors, Christian Horner has won everything at the helm of Red Bull Racing. Since joining the Austrian team in 2005, the British man has built a formidable racing team that achieved its first successes as early as 2009, thanks to a certain Sebastian Vettel. Then, for the next four seasons, Vettel allowed Red Bull to win all the driver and constructor titles.

After a period of decline and being dominated by Mercedes, Christian Horner never gave up on his team and his hard work paid off. His new star driver, who came through the Red Bull Academy, Max Verstappen, is currently a triple world champion. And for the first time in its history, Red Bull has achieved a double in the drivers’ championship.
