James Allison signs long-term contract with Mercedes
Mercedes has confirmed the contract extension of its technical director, James Allison, for several seasons.

James Allison joined Mercedes in 2017 as the technical director before occupying various positions within the German team. He finally resumed his role as technical director of the team in April 2023, and he has now extended his contract for several years with Mercedes in F1. This extension announces a desired stability in Brackley as the future regulations scheduled for 2026 approach.

“The F1 has brought me a lot of happiness, but none has been greater than answering Toto’s call to join Mercedes in 2017. It’s a great privilege to continue this adventure, to work alongside brilliant colleagues and to fight together for championship success,” Allison said via Mercedes’ statement.
Toto Wolff, who has just extended his contract for three additional seasons as team principal, added: « I am thrilled that James has committed his long-term future to the team. In a word, he is the most impressive technical leader in our sport. », affirmed Wolff.
