McLaren is partnering with a financial technology company
The start of a Formula 1 season is always marked by the arrival of new sponsors, and McLaren is no exception. The British team has announced a new official partner: Airwallex, a financial technology company.

McLaren has announced that Airwallex, a global financial platform for modern businesses, has become an official partner of the Formula 1 team for the 2024 season and beyond.
According to the statement from the British team, the Airwallex platform will support McLaren’s financial operations and bring efficiency gains in the team’s multi-currency transactions to unlock new opportunities and enable global expansion.
The Airwallex brand will appear on the protective halo of the McLaren MCL38, as well as on the racing suits of McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, for the 2024 season.
The CEO and co-founder of Airwallex, Jack Zhang, was thrilled to join the ranks of McLaren in F1. There are very few brands that match the heritage and global appeal of McLaren. Like McLaren, Airwallex is constantly innovating to go faster and with greater precision, with a product that brings people from around the world together.
“Our partnership will play a key role in supporting our global expansion, and we are excited to work with the McLaren team in 2024 and beyond to support our mutual growth,” he said.
Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, also spoke out after the announcement of this partnership. In the competitive world of Formula 1, efficiency and performance are crucial both on and off the track. We are delighted to have Airwallex on board and to use their innovative and reliable payment solutions to support our team’s financial operations.
The Woking team will unveil its true 2024 car, the MCL38, on February 14th.
