Zhou Guanyu is impatient to compete in his first Chinese Grand Prix
After four years of absence, due to the global pandemic, the Chinese Grand Prix is making its return to the calendar. Zhou Guanyu will have the opportunity to compete in his very first home Grand Prix on April 21st, at the Shanghai circuit.

This season, Formula 1 will return to China after a four-year absence. The Asian country had not hosted the premier category of motorsport since 2019, due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. The race will take place on April 21st.
During the last edition, Lewis Hamilton emerged victorious, Max Verstappen was not yet the world champion, Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel were still in F1, but most importantly, Zhou Guanyu had not yet participated in a Grand Prix in the discipline.
« It’s a place with a lot of memories for me.
Number 24 will be competing in his third season in the premier category of motor racing, within the same team that he had joined in 2022, and is very excited to compete in his very first Chinese Grand Prix.
(I) I think it will give us goosebumps when we arrive at this weekend, starting with the first session on Friday. It is a place with a lot of memories for me because when I was a child, I remember the first event I attended was in 2004 when we had the first Grand Prix in China. There was nothing there, and even the tickets were distributed by car companies, and I was lucky to get one, said Zhou Guanyu to RacingNews365 media.
« I was in the grandstand just before turn 1, watching and having this feeling of “I really want to be a driver like that one day” and I was trying to understand the best way to start my own career in karting. It’s such a memorable place, and knowing that in my first season in Formula 1, there was no Chinese Grand Prix, first because I never imagined I would be in Formula 1 one day, and it was the thing I was looking forward to the most », remembers driver Stake.
« But that hasn’t happened in five years, so I had to fight to make sure I had a home race, and it’s finally happening. It’s really exciting to think about how all these people are going to be there, the crowd is going to be excited, it’s going to be a very thrilling event,” the Chinese man eagerly awaits.
