Aston Martin aims for at least fourth place in the championship this year
While Aston Martin finished the 2023 season in fifth place in the constructors' championship, with eight podium finishes, team owner Lawrence Stroll has set his sights even higher for 2024.

The year 2023 marked a significant progression for the Aston Martin team compared to 2022. The green team achieved eight podium finishes, all with Fernando Alonso, scored 280 points, compared to 55 the previous year, and finished the season in fifth place in the constructor’s standings, 160 units ahead of Alpine, while battling McLaren for P4.
The British team, however, did not win any victories in 2023, despite some opportunities, notably at the Monaco Grand Prix. The AMR 24 was presented a few days ago, and the team hopes to continue aiming for podium finishes, or even victory, before achieving the ultimate goal: winning the title around 2026.
We would like to move from the fifth to the fourth or third place.
Before the start of this season, which will begin on March 2nd in Bahrain, Lawrence Stroll, owner of the Aston Martin brand, wants the team to finish in a better position in the constructor’s standings by 2024.
“We want to do better than last year. I know that we would like to move up from fifth to fourth or third place. Regardless, we just want to keep improving,” stated Lawrence Stroll.
We are a young team and we have just moved into new facilities. Our wind tunnel will be ready in September of this year. We are the last team still running without a wind tunnel. In 2026, we will switch to Honda engines. So, we are on the right track to win, says the Canadian, positively.
The campus started to be built shortly after Covid. We have completed one of the three buildings. And when everything is ready, we will have the largest, state-of-the-art Formula 1 facility. So we really can’t wait to be there, the billionaire rejoices.
“It was a very, very exciting day. Seeing our Formula 1 shakedown at the Silverstone circuit got us all thrilled. Now, we can’t wait to start the new season,” concluded Lawrence Stroll.
